ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN

We are looking an electronics technician with a practical and direct attitude to work in the production department. You will be involved in electronics and mechanical assembly operations of flight-worthy hardware for our satellites, device testing, supply management, and equipment and component maintenance.

Tasks and Responsibilities

As electronics operator you will perform printed circuit assembly, cabling of electro-mechanical units, component kitting, and printed board testing.

As mechanical operator, you will perform precise assembly of mechanical parts, and precise measurement and calibration.

As a warehouse manager, you will register in the inventory incoming components, sort up the warehouse, and prepare DDT and packaging for outgoing components.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Good knowledge of electronics, especially on component performance parameters
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical components and electro mechanic actuators
  • Pre-existing experience in electronics soldering and assembly
  • Experience in the use of electronic measurement instruments.
  • Familiarity with electronics productions tools
  • Knowledge of mechanical measurement tools
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, in particular Word and Excel
  • Ability to read English technical material
  • Dexterity, common sense, autonomy, an attitude problem solving oriented are a major requirement
  • Meticulous nature when following complex assembly and testing instructions and organizing the workspaces
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Availability to occasional off-site missions

Education

Technical diploma, possibly in electronics or electro mechanics is an ideal requirement. Other backgrounds will be considered as long as you have acquired the necessary skills, even as a hobbyist.

Language

ADCS ENGINEER

We are looking for an attitude determination and control engineer to carry out the ADCS related activities on D-Orbit spacecraft, following the whole subsystem lifecycle. He or she will design and develop the subsystem, coordinating with system engineering, manage technical data exchanges with suppliers, follow prototyping and engineering activities up to subsystem qualification, and participate to AIV of flight model and support operations from mission setup to in-flight ADCS testing and maintenance.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Top level design and requirements definition, starting from mission and payload requirements
  • Detailed ADCS system and operation design and verification, in coordination with the rest of the spacecraft system and subsystems
  • Subsystem modules, sensors and actuators definition and procurement. Activities might include design, prototyping, testing and manufacturing of in-house developed hardware or technical support to selection, procurement, and acceptance of third party supplied items
  • ADCS mode, algorithm, and control design
  • ADCS software requirements and TM/TC
  • LEOP and commissioning of ADCS subsystem
  • Authoring of Technical documents
  • Managing ADCS budget and schedule

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of systems engineering
  • At least two years of working experience
  • Participation to at least one flown mission in ADCS subsystem team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proactive attitude and ability to work in team and individually
  • GNC and related problems knowledge is a plus
  • Proximity dynamics and control knowledge is a plus
  • Experience in nanosat, CubeSat, or minisat projects is a plus.

Education

Advanced University degree (Master’s degree or equivalent), preferably in Aerospace Engineering

Language

SOFTWARE TEST ENGINEER

We are looking for a software test engineer to join our growing team. Your task will be to add exciting new capabilities to our test suites. You will become part of a dynamic software design group, leading the development of the testing environment by making continuous improvements.

You will design, deploy and maintain automated tests within a continuous integration environment, improving and developing new test architectures to add additional capabilities.  You will validate new features and provide a lasting impact by working with the key stakeholders in the development process.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Design and development of automated test scripts and code
  • Validation of features including integration with software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop test suites
  • Deployment of tests into a continuous integration environment
  • Creation and maintenance of test infrastructure, tools, equipment and test harnesses
  • Generation and monitoring of suitable metrics to assess the level and quality of test coverage
  • Champion the software test area by proactively finding areas for improvement and driving the development of new infrastructure, tools, and best practices

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Experience developing tests and automation within a C, C++, and/or MATLAB development environment.
  • Experience with test-driven development
  • Knowledge of test methodologies, authoring test plans, development of test cases and debugging issues.
  • Proficient with script development for automation in Python or any similar language
  • Understanding and appreciation of interfacing with C based applications for embedded software targets
  • Familiarity with any Linux based distribution and appreciation of application development
  • Familiarity with typical software development methodology and release versioning processes
  • Familiarity with GIT versioning system or any similar DVCS
  • Ability of working in autonomy and within a team setting to meet tight schedules
  • Resilience and ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively
  • Experience using and deploying test automation tools or build automation tools like Jenkins and TestComplete is considered a plus

Education

Bachelor or higher engineering degree in electronic engineering, aerospace, computer science or automation or other relevant areas

We are looking for a project manager to be integrated in D-Orbit PM team. This position offers you the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment inside one of the fastest growing companies of the high tech industry. As a PM, you will be responsible for planning, monitoring, and managing company projects, ranging from the strategic planning of activities to their implementation and control. Your job will also require you to draft, edit, and deliver proposals for grant applications or budgets and support data for the sales department. Your function will also require significant interaction with other Company departments, such as Technical, Sales, Administration, Purchase, Production, and Quality.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties (whenever applicable) for the flawless execution of projects;
  • Ensure that the projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget;
  • Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders;
  • Develop detailed project plans to track progress and measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques;
  • Perform risk management;
  • Implement and manage change when necessary to meet project outputs;
  • Proposal drafting and delivery as support to the sales team.
  • Produce tools in Excel and Microsoft Project to support current and future Project Management Activities;

Additional duties may be assigned, as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Technical background, with conceptual understanding or hands-on experience in space technologies;
  • At least three years of experience in project coordination and management;
  • Experience in aerospace projects gained from structured and dynamic environments;
  • Knowledge of project management techniques;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Proactive attitude and ability to work in team and individually;
  • Leadership, management and team coordination skills;
  • Good Knowledge of PM software tools like Microsoft Project;
  • PMP certification is a plus.
